Important Safety Information

Your HAIMMY electric infrared patio heater has been designed with multiple safety features and is UL certified to meet strict safety standards. Following these guidelines ensures safe, worry-free operation.

Before First Use

  • Read all instructions in the user manual
  • Inspect the power cord for any damage
  • Ensure the heater is positioned on a stable, level surface
  • Verify adequate clearance from combustible materials
  • Test the tip-over protection by gently tilting (it should shut off automatically)

Operating Safety Guidelines

Do's

  • ✓ Keep heater at least 3 feet from walls, curtains, and furniture
  • ✓ Always place on stable, level surface
  • ✓ Unplug when not in use and before cleaning
  • ✓ Use outdoors with GFCI-protected outlet
  • ✓ Allow heater to cool before moving or storing
  • ✓ Supervise children and pets around heater

Don'ts

  • ✗ Never use extension cords or power strips
  • ✗ Do not cover heater or block air vents
  • ✗ Never touch heating element during or immediately after use
  • ✗ Do not use in bathrooms, near water, or in wet conditions (except IPX5-rated models)
  • ✗ Do not operate with damaged cord or after malfunction
  • ✗ Never leave unattended while children or pets are present

Child & Pet Safety

While our heaters feature cool-touch exteriors, exercise caution:

  • Keep heaters out of reach of children under 3 years
  • Teach older children not to touch or move the heater
  • Pets should be supervised - the infrared warmth may attract them
  • Consider using a safety barrier or pet gate in high-traffic areas

Weather Conditions

For outdoor use:

  • Light Rain: IPX5-rated models can withstand light rain
  • Heavy Rain/Snow: Unplug and store indoors
  • Wind: Secure heater to prevent tipping in high winds
  • Extreme Cold: Allow heater to reach room temperature before use
